Silver-white ore out of the high peaks, cold to the touch and lighter than it has any right to be. A full sack weighs less than the same volume of iron, which is usually what tells a miner what they've found before the color does.
It takes a long time in the furnace and rewards patience. Armor made from it protects like steel at a fraction of the weight, which is why so little of it ever reaches open market.


Mithril Ore

Silver-white metal, light as air yet strong as legend.

Iridescent ore that forms only in the floating isles, where the raw aether of the upper air has been working on exposed rock since the Origin Stones raised these lands. It is cool to the touch, faintly magnetic, and noticeably lighter than the stone it comes out of.
The color shifts depending on the angle you hold it at. Miners at the high seams say a loose piece falls slower than it should, though nobody has ever managed to prove it to anyone who wasn't already convinced.


Skysteel Ore

Iridescent alloy born from the bones of the heavens.

, made during the last years of the Skyforges and not since. It was held to be the only metal that could stand against the aetheric currents that keep the Cloud Realm aloft.
The surviving records agree on the ingredients and say nothing useful about the method. No living smith can make it, and every ingot that turns up now came out of somewhere old.
