Mistflax fibers weigh almost nothing at all — a full handful rests on the palm like a breath of fog, cool and faintly damp no matter how long it is kept. Held to the light they seem less like thread than like a wisp of cloud somehow coaxed into staying.
They are the rarest and finest fibers the realm gives up, gathered at the dangerous rim where the isles dissolve into open sky. Woven, they become mistcloth — the pinnacle of the tailor's craft.

Mistflax takes root only at the fog-drowned edges of the highest isles, where the cloud banks spill over the rim and never quite lift. Its pale, slender stalks drink straight from the mist, and the fibers they yield — @items/fibers/mistflax — are so fine and so light they seem half made of cloud themselves.
It is the rarest fiber a forager of the Cloud Realm can claim, growing where a single misstep is a long fall. What it becomes is finer than anything else the loom can make.
