Baked from Moonmeal and shaped, by long tradition, into a crescent — the rarest bread in the realm, pale as ash and shimmering with a cool light that strengthens once the sun is down.

It is the only loaf that is routinely given rather than eaten: to mark a parting, a debt repaid, or a night someone would rather not face alone. Those who do eat it tend to do so slowly, by its own light.
